  6. World Water Week

    World Water Week is the leading annual event on global water issues. The week consists of a great number of parallel sessions convened by leading international organizations on a broad array of water-related topics, ranging from food security and health, to agriculture, energy, biodiversity, and the climate crisis. Highlights of the week include the international competition the Stockholm Junior Water Prize and the award ceremony for the Stockholm Water Prize, the water world’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize.

  7. Adaptation Futures 2020

    The Energy and Resources Institute will co-host the Adaptation Futures 2020 with the World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP) in Delhi from 4 - 8 October 2021. It is the sixth in the Adaptation Futures international conference series on global adaptation and the first to be held in Asia. Adaptation Futures is the flagship event of the World Adaptation Science Program, which is one of the four components of World Climate Programme (WCP) based on the World Meteorological Organisation Congress XVI Resolution 18. As a premier event in the global adaptation spectrum, Adaptation Futures is a unique platform to facilitate dialogues towards action oriented solutions from a diverse range of stakeholders that includes academia, practitioners, scientists and policy makers from across the world.

  8. 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 27)

    At the Sharm el-Sheikh Climate Change Conference (COP 27), countries come together to take action towards achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris Agreement and the Convention. Building on the outcomes and momentum of COP 26 in Glasgow last year, nations are expected to demonstrate at COP 27 that they are in a new era of implementation by turning their commitments under the Paris Agreement into action. The conference is taking place from 6-18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Heads of State and Government attended the Sharm el-Sheikh Climate Implementation Summit on 7 and 8 November. A high-level segment primarily attended by Ministers will take place from 15-18 November.

  9. Groundwater Summit 2022

    The UN-Water Summit on Groundwater 2022 aims to bring attention to groundwater at the highest international level. The Summit will use the UN World Water Development Report 2022 as a baseline and the SDG 6 Global Acceleration Framework as a guideline to define actions towards more responsible and sustainable use and protection of this vital natural resource. The Summit will unify the statements from all major water-related events in 2022 into one comprehensive groundwater message for the UN Water Conference 2023.

  13. UN 2023 Water Conference

    The General Assembly, in its resolution 73/226, decided to convene, in New York, from 22 to 24 March 2023, the United Nations Conference on the “Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the Objectives of the International Decade for Action, ‘Water for Sustainable Development’, 2018–2028” (United Nations 2023 Water Conference). It will focus on the sustainable development and integrated management of water resources for the achievement of social, economic and environmental objectives, the implementation and promotion of related programmes and projects, as well as on the furtherance of cooperation and partnerships at all levels. The outcome of the Conference will be a summary that will feed into the high-level political forum on sustainable development (HLPF) held in July 2023. The Governments of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands will co-host the Conference.

  18. 2023 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 28)

    The country is going to host the 28th session of the Conference of Parties (COP 28) to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). Though the dates are not confirmed yet, the event will tentatively fall between November 6 and 17, 2023. Dubai Expo City will serve as the venue for COP28.
